Agenda for national infrastructures and basic services
Infrastructures and basic services are the key to user-friendly and efficient electronic processes. With the Digital Public Services Switzerland's agenda for national infrastructures and basic services (DPSS agenda), the Confederation and the cantons want to quickly initiate and implement joint key projects.
Establishing common infrastructures and basic services
For the DPSS agenda, the first phase starting in 2022 will focus especially on moving forward with feasibility studies and pilot projects in collaboration with the cantons and communes, in order to develop solution options and common objectives. On this basis, requisite initiatives and measures will be introduced and supplemented in a phased approach. A key aspect is the provision of common infrastructures and basic services for identity and access management, for the electronic receipt and sending of documents, or for data use and management across the various levels of government.
Goals
The five goals of the DPSS agenda are described below. They reflect the areas identified as needing action in Switzerland as regards infrastructures and basic services for digital administration.
Short-term priority action programme
The DPSS agenda supplements the eGovernment implementation plan. It is a short-term priority action programme aimed at accelerating the achievement of the objectives in a given section of the implementation plan. The financing for the DPSS agenda is provided in addition to the basic financing for the DPSS.
Good to know
Infrastructures comprise all technical facilities that are prerequisites for providing and using basic services and IT solutions (e.g. cloud infrastructure).
A basic service is an electronic service that provides a common, comprehensive basis on which other government e-services are built (e.g. electronic identity and access management).
